John Michael "Mike" Boyd

John Michael "Mike" Boyd, age 49, of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at his residence. Mike was born on June 22, 1959, in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of John Marion and Betty Eileen Magee Boyd. He was raised and educated in Henderson County graduating from Union High School Biggsville, Illinois, in 1975. Michael was employed at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg, Ill., for 4 years. He then was employed at Montgomery Ward in the tire shop for a time. He then was employed as a custodian at Burlington Medical Center and he also did mechanic work and handyman work in Gladstone, Ill. He enjoyed small engine repair. Michael is survived by two sisters, Connie Murphy and Pistol of Monmouth, and Cindy Boyd of Bondville, Ill., and one brother Ronnie Boyd and Kathy of Galesburg, Ill. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services:A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville . Michael's family will be present to receive friends at Turnbull's from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning. A memorial fund is being established for the Biggsville Ambulance Service. Cremation has been accorded.
