John T. Wainman, age 51, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 6:20 am on July 1, 2009 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois.John T. "Wammie" Wainman, age 51, of Monmouth, Ill., passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. John was born on February 4, 1958 in Avon, Ill., the son of Kermit C. and Bonnie Richey Wainman. John was raised and educated in rural Galesburg and a 1976 graduate of Galesburg High School. John served his country in the United States Army. He married Margaret "Butchie" Murphy on March 21, 1998 in Monmouth. She survives. John first worked for Munson Transportation in Monmouth and for Trulson Construction in Cameron, Ill. He then worked on the Doc Reeder Farm as a farm hand. He later worked for Adrian Carriers in Coal Valley, Ill. John currently was working as a custodian for United School District #304 in Warren County. He was a former member of the Monmouth Eagles Aeries. John was a Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed helping people and working with his hands. He loved kids and kids loved him. John is survived by his wife Margaret "Butchie" Wainman of Monmouth, sons Brandon Wainman of Moline, Ill., Michael Murf Fry of Monmouth and daughter Melinda M. Fry of Monmouth, his parents Kermit Wainman and Bonnie, sisters Joie Cokel and Julius of Monmouth, Jean Main of Galesburg, and brother Jerry Wainman of Jacksonville. Also surviving is his grandmother Mary Richey of Monmouth, two brothers-in-law, Pistol Murphy and Connie of Monmouth, Craig Murphy and Penny of Monmouth, one sister-in-law Linda Sage of Monmouth, and a number of nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by two grandfathers, one grandmother and one aunt. Services:A funeral service for John will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment with military honors will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. John's family will be present to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home on Sunday, July 5, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund is being established for the education of his son Brandon.
