Jon Deen

Jon L. Deen, age 72, of Decatur, Illinois passed away on June 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL. Jon was born on January 3, 1938 to Lowell Main and Mildred Grace (Hook) Deen in Monmouth, IL. He was raised in Monmouth attending Monmouth schools and graduating from Monmouth High School and graduated from Monmouth College in the class of 1962. While in Monmouth, Jon was employed at Bowman Shoe Company and later for Glenn and Dan Kistler at Kistler & Company. For the last 30 years he has worked at the St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL as an accountant. Jon enjoyed cycling, tennis, and University of Illinois Football. Surviving Jon are two step daughters, one sister Karen Squire of Highlands Ranch, Co., one brother William Deen of St. Louis, Mo., one niece Melanie Squire Anderson (John) of Del Norte, Co., three nephews; Michael Squire (Kim) of Williamsburg, Va., Mark Squire (Lucinda) Highlands Ranch, Co., and Brian Deen of Muscatine, Ia., four grand nieces and one grand nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services:A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. His family will be present for the hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home to receive friends. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation.
