Jonathan P. Robbins, age 28, of Monmouth, Ill., passed away Sunday morning, August 9, 2009, at his residence after a short battle with esophageal cancer. Jonathan was born on April 27, 1981 in Monmouth, the son of Richard and Kathy Huebner Robbins. He was raised and educated in Monmouth. Jonathan was employed at many local restaurants, did an internship and had employment as a union organizer in Chicago for SEIU Local 880. He did both day work and crew position in the yatching industry in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, but mostly was self-employed selling wooden croaking (Thialand) frogs at "shows" or festivals throughout the country. Jonathan is survived by his parents, Richard and Kathy Robbins, two brothers Jason and wife Jenny Robbins, Bryon and wife Kim Robbins, four nieces: Hannah, Emily, Isabel, Abigail Robbins, one nephew Isaac Robbins, one aunt Sharon Unterbrink, one uncle Robert "Bob" Huebner and special in-laws Gary and Sherry Fernald all of Monmouth. Also surviving is his grandmother Ruth Tee and her husband Bill of Oquawka, Ill. Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandma and Grandpa Huebner, Grandpa Robbins, Aunt Bonnie Sidie and Aunt Shirley Huebner. Services:A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Turnbull Funereal Home in Monmouth. Jonathan's family will be present to receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday morning at Turnbull's. Memorials can be made to, "The Gate" Youth Center at the Armory.
