Joseph H. Alcorn

Joseph H. Alcorn, 70, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 30th, 2008. Born August 3, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa, Joe was a gentle and kind-hearted family man. He is survived by his five children: Mark (wife Joyce), Barry, Paula, Julie (husband Scott) and Amy (husband Jeremy), four grandchildren (Erin, Alyssa, Colin and Michael) and brother, Terry (wife Mariann). Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Amy and his wife Joyce (Holford) who was born and raised in Kirkwood. Joe served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He also spent his professional career working for UPS and in office supply sales. Being a long-time resident of Iowa, Joe had great passion for his Iowa Hawkeyes and an immense love for animals. As a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, father, uncle, grandfather, soldier and friend, Joe will be missed by so many who were blessed to have him in their lives. Services:A graveside memorial service will be held at Center Grove Cemetary in Kirkwood on Saturday, September 5th at 10:30 a.m. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
