Judy A. Colley, age 70, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at her residence on Friday September 7, at 5:44 pm after a long illness. Judy was born October 25, 1941 in Gladstone, Illinois and is the daughter of Otis and May Brent Bielser. Judy was raised in Gladstone, Illinois where she attended school and graduated from G & O High School with the Class of 1959. Judy married Charles D. Colley on October 14, 1960 in Stronghurst, Illinois and he is surviving. Judy was a homemaker and mother to her family and in her own home. She first was employed seamstress at Formfit in Monmouth, and then worked for the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa. More recently she was a cook at both the Oquawka Grade School and then at Tri-Valley Middle School. Judy is a member of the Oquawka United Methodist Church and it's United Methodist Women's group for which she served as Treasurer. She was a co-president of the Henderson County Home Extension, and President of Oquawka Home Extension. She is president of the Leisure Bells Bowling League and bowled many years in Oquawka, Country Fun in Biggsville, and in Burlington. Judy always volunteered her time at her school and in Community affairs. When her family was young she served as a 4H and Girl Scout Leader. Surviving are her husband, Charlie Colley of Oquawka, IL, three daughters, Jill (Steve) Colley-Knotts of Gladstone, IL; Susan (Kenny) Bundy of Gladstone, IL; and Jane (Brett) Alexander of Biggsville, IL. Her grandchildren, Kyle, Allison, Wade, Ben, and Emma are all surviving. She has two sisters Linda ( (Bob) Denison of Monmouth, IL and Jeanie (Steve) Dunn of Oquawka, IL. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also are surviving. Judy Ann is preceded in her death by her parents and one daughter, Laurie Colley. Services:A funeral service will be at the Oquawka United Methodist Church in Oquawka, Illinois on Wednesday September 12, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Her family plans visitation on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Gladstone Ambulance Service.
