Julia A. Talbott, age 77, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 9:50 am on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her residence in Milan, Illinois. Julia was born on August 23, 1941 in Oquawka, Illinois, the daughter of Chester Lloyd and Iva Gertrude (Boughton) Parsons. Julia attended schools in Oquawka and graduated from G&O High School with the Class of 1959. She later attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg where she obtained her LPN degree. On December 27, 1958, Julia married Lawrence L. Talbott in Oquawka, Illinois and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2001. Julia began work at Western Stoneware in Monmouth as a forklift operator. After obtaining her degree, she worked at Applegate Inn in Monmouth for a number of years as a LPN. Julia then worked Aledo Healthcare and then for the Grand View Terrace in Davenport, and the O.A. Armstrong Retirement Home. She last worked for Heartland Hospice in Davenport. Julia has been a past president and long-time member of the Milan Lions Club. After retirement Julia was the Lunch Lady at the Rock Island/Milan School district for a number of years and most recently care for the elderly in their final days. Julia is survived by two daughters, Marlene Stumphy (Dennis) of Aledo, IL and Cindy Renwick (Jim) of Monmouth, IL; seven sons, Larry W. Talbott (Carolyn) of Silvis, IL, James L Talbott of Milan, IL, Brad D. Talbott and Fiance' Cathy of Monmouth, IL, Steve D. Talbott of Sulphur, LA, Rodney C. Talbott (Pam) of Pine Mountain, GA, Patrick L. Talbott (Lisa) of Aledo, IL, and Leonard D. Talbott of Milan, Illinois. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren surviving. Her sister, Dorothy Beauchem (Gene) are surviving in Oregon, IL, and two brothers, Wendell Parsons (Mary) of Gladstone, IL.and Ivan Jern (Bonnie) of Woodstock, GA. A funeral service for Julia A Talbott will be at 11:00 am on Thursday October 18, 2018 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Her family plans visitation on Wednesday evening and will receive their friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery. Fellowship is to follow at Faith Bible Church following her committal service. A memorial fund is being established for the Milan Lions Club.
