Junelyn D. Widener, age 89 of Monmouth, passed away at 5:20 p. m., February 28, 2011 at Roseville Nursing and Rehab in Roseville, Illinois. She was born on October 6, 1920 in Monmouth, the daughter of George W. and Luella Wells Dungan. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1939 and attended Nursing School in Chicago. She married Spurgeon Widener on July 30, 1958 in Monmouth, he preceded her in death on January 3,1991. Junelyn was a RN in the OB Department at Monmouth Hospital for over 40 years . She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Heritage U.P. Church in Monmouth. Junelyn is survived by three daughters Diane Blanchard of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Lefler of Monmouth, and Amy (Jim ) Lox of Oquawka. Also surviving are five grandchildren; David Snell of California, Jeremy Stokes (Michelle) of Monmouth, Amanda Lox of Oquawka, Illinois, Christopher Lefler of Monmouth and Tyler Lefler of Monmouth. Nine great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and one brother. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. Her family will be present to receive friends an hour prior to the service at Turnbulls. A memorial fund is being established.
