Junior R. Siler, 85, of East Peoria died at 11:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born June 20, 1922, in Ipava, Illinois, the son of Claud B. and Alta Mabell Weese Siler. He married Maribeth Bigger in 1944 in Monmouth, Illinois, she survives. Mr. Siler was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company for more than 30 years, retiring in 1987 as a cable repairman. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and was an avid bowler. Survivors include his wife Maribbeth, one daughter, Mary Jane and Ed Chard of St. Louis, Missouri.; one son, Robert and Pam Siler of East Peoria; two grandchildren, Kathy Schormann of Ellisville, Missouri., and Brett Chard of St. Louis, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Kessler of Blandisville; and one brother, Dean and Redeana Siler of Champaign. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Davis and Donna McPeak; and one brother, Donovan Siler. Services:A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville, Illinois where his family will receive friends from noon until time of the services. Interment with military honors will be in Biggsville Township Cemetery in Biggsville. Memorials may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.
