K. Lucille "Dolly" Lefort

K. Lucille "Dolly" Lefort, age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 12:35 pm at Monmouth Nursing Home on Sunday May 11, 2014. " Dolly " was born on January 29, 1928 in Monmouth and is the daughter of "T.W." Terrance Wm. and Frances Burns Gavin. She was reared and educated in Warren County where she attended " Farmer's Academy " rural school and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1946. She was married to Willard Gene Lefort on October 11, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. Lucille was first employed at the National Bank of Monmouth, where she was an assistant and a teller for many years. She is a life member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, where she was one of the church organists for many years. She enjoyed performing and playing the organ at many events and various masses at the church. She also played often at both the Monmouth and the LaMoine Christian Nursing home in Roseville, Illinois. Dolly also worked for a time as secretary at the Warren County Farm Bureau in Monmouth, Illinois. Lucille enjoyed sewing and gardening and baking her celebrated sugar cookies. She also did a lot of needlepoint and handwork. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy A. Armstrong of Monmouth, Illinois and her son, Todd W. Lefort, also of Monmouth, Illinois. There are three grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, and Brooke Armstrong, and one great grandson, Clayton K. Olson of Alexis, Illinois One sister survives, Jean Hopson of Roseville, Illinois. There are ten nieces and nephews, and a number of other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters. Services:A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on Saturday May 17. 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth, Illinois. A Rosary service is planned at 5:00 pm Friday evening with the family remaining at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL to receive friends for visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm A memorial fund is established for either the Monmouth Nursing Home or Immaculate Conception Church.
