Kathleen M. "Kathy" Miller Profile Photo

Kathleen M. Miller, age 54, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois on February 19, 2011 at 5:20 am. Kathy was born on April 25, 1956 in Glenwood Springs, CO and is the daughter of Henry F. and Joan M. Smith Harper. She was raised and educated in Junction City, Kansas where she attended local schools and graduated from Junction City High School. Kathy married Oscar Edward Miller of December 5, 1980 in Monmouth, Illinois. She began work after coming to Monmouth in 1980 when she clerked at Super America. She then served as Nurses Aide at Monmouth Nursing Home for a time,after which she became a machine operator and forman at Hideaway Plastics in North Henderson and Aledo, Illinois. Her last employment was as clerk at Casey's General Store on South Main Street in Monmouth. Kathy volunteered at Jamieson Center in Monmouth and also loved to go fishing. She most especially enjoyed her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her husband Ed Miller of Monmouth, one daughter Joan Harper of Galesburg, IL; and three sons, Michael Miller, Matthew (Taryn) Miller, and Eddie Miller, all of Monmouth, IL. There are five grandchildren. Three sisters survive, Margaret (Dan) Obenland of Salina, Kansas; Sharon Bright of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Ann (J.D.) Haefling of Rogersville, MO. There are three brothers, twin Kevin (Jolene) Harper of Pratt, Kansas; Gary (Becky) Harper, and Matt Harper, both of Salina, Kansas. Her half sister Shirley (Jim) Wheeler of Lewiston, Idaho also survives. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece Jenny Bright. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday February 25, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday February 24, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
