Kathleen S. Leary, age 80, of Little York, Illinois; passed away at 10:17 am on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Monmouth Nursing Home. Kathleen was born on July 29, 1934 in Viola, Illinois and is the daughter of Earl Clair and Sylvia Jane Anderson Thompson. She was raised in the Aledo area and attended it's schools and graduated from Aledo High School with the class of 1952. Kathleen was married to Charles John "Chuck" Leary on January 26, 1955 in Burlington, Iowa and he is surviving. Kathleen began work as a clerk at Quinn's Grocery in Aledo, Illinois. She then was a cook at the Little York Grade School for a number of years. After that she was a shampooer for " The Hairdresser" beauty salon in Monmouth, IL. Lastly she was a health care assistant for the Western Illinois Home Health Care of Monmouth, Illinois. Earlier Kathleen was an active member of "The Farmerette's" a group of local farm wives devoted to their husband's. She also was a skit leader for the Bald Bluff 4-H club doing their skits for Warren Achievement in Monmouth, Illinois. Kathleen is a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Leary of Little York, IL; two daughters, Sylvia (Steve) Olson of Indian Creek, IL and Lois (Bob) Markham of Groveland, IL. There are three sons, Terry (Jill) Leary, Jim Leary, and Alan Leary all of Little York, IL. Her grandchildren, Derrick (Tiffany) Leary, Aaron (Sara) Leary, Trisha (Tom) Crambes, Tyler Bodish, Kellsy (Chad) Scott, Tara Bodish, John (Natasha) Waugh, Anthony Leary, Ruby (Brandon) Broderick, Samantha Leary, Caroline Olson, StephanieLeary, Morgan Waugh, Cody Broderick, and Kaylin Broderick are all surviving. Her great grandchildren are Rachel Leary, Rose Leary, Collin Leary, Dillon Leary, Alex Crambes, Charles Crambes, Malachi Morris, and Trinity Waugh are a;; surviving. Two sisters survive, Verla Thompson of Aledo, Illinois and Eleanor McAtee in Metropolis, Illinois. Two brothers survive, Clair (Marilyn) Thompson of Edginton, IL and Earl Thompson, Jr. of Aledo, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents, a sister Wanda Fausch and a brother Carl Thompson. Services:Mass of the Resurrection for Kathleen is planned on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth at 10:00 am. A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm on Friday evening at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois and her family plans visitation receiving their friends following the Rosary Service. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established for the C.P.E.F. Children's Playground Enhancement Fund.
