Kathy C. Schultz-Hillier, age 66, of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away at 3:41 A.M. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital. She was born on April 15, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Rodney E. and Jacqueline E. (Kuhl) Schultz. Kathy attended school in Galesburg until her family moved to Oquawka. She was a graduate of Union High School with the Class of 1970. She was previously married to Terry Hillier. Kathy was first employed at Alfreda's in Oquawka where she waited tables for a time. She then worked at Gates Rubber in Galesburg. She then moved to Florida with her husband where she raised her two children. When Kathy returned to the area she worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth for ten years, after-which she worked at Alpha Goma America in Burlington, Iowa as an assembler until her retirement. Kathy loved life on the farm, as it allowed her to care for stray animals, especially her cats. Kathy is survived by one daughter, Brianne Hillier of Waukesha, WI, one son, Erik (Elizabeth) Hillier of Waukesha, WI, her father Rodney (Lyn) Schultz of East Galesburg, IL, two grandchildren, Kaleb and Lukas, one sister, Patty (Will) Miner of Oquawka, IL, and two brothers; Rodney Schultz and James Schultz, both of Burlington, IA, two step-sisters, Becky Kelly and Brenda Lox, and step-brother Bruce Keever. She is preceded in death by her mother and half-brother John Reeder. As were Kathy's wishes, cremation is being accorded. A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 1pm, at 708 N. 5th Street, Oquawka, IL. In honor of Kathy's memory, please send donations to Henderson County Humane Society's Almost Home Shelter in Oquawka, IL.
