Kendall B. Engen, age 46, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 1:37 am on Saturday November 30, 2013 in the Emergency Room at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois. Kendall was born on March 8, 1967 in Burlington, Iowa and is the son of Bernard Kendall Engen and Pamela Jean Dixon Lumbeck. Kendall was raised in Henderson County in Oquawka and Gulfport where he attended the Gladstone Grade School and graduated from Union High School with the class of 1985. He then attended Carl Sandburg College where is majored in "Baseball". He was previously married to Rosalee Lynn. Kendall began work at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa where he worked for a number of years. He was employed most of his career in the Burlington area and was currently employed by Alpha - Omega company in Burlington. All of his life Kendall has played and enjoyed fast pitch baseball in many areas including Oquawka. He has been an avid golfer and played extensively in the area and really enjoyed "FaceBook" on his computer. He is survived by his mother, Pamela Dixon Lumbeck (Bob) of Oquawka, Illinois and one son, Kyler Engen of Oquawka, Illinois. Also surviving is one step daughter, Genera Tansey of Burlington, Iowa and his brother Kevin Engen of Oquawka, IL. There are also many Aunts and Uncles surviving. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Dixon and his father. Services:A visitation and service with his family present at Turnbull Funeral Home is planned on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private family funeral is planned at a later date. Cremation is then to be accorded. Memorial donations may be made for the welfare of his Son, Kyler. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of the local arrangements.
