Kenneth W. Carlson, age 77, of Monmouth, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. He was born on March 23, 1934 in Monmouth, and is the son of Chester and May Irene Miller Carlson. Kenneth was reared and educated in Monmouth, and graduated from Monmouth High School. He served for a time in the United States Army. Kenneth was first married to Maxine Bielser, she preceded him in death. He later married Marcelina Arteaga on November 3, 1990 in Monmouth, she survives. Kenneth worked for Don Baldridge Roofing, Gambles Skaogmo, a rural mail carrier, and lastly the OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. He enjoyed mowing his yard, model trains, going to Las Vegas, country music, and line dancing. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Marcelina Carlson of Monmouth, one daughter Robin Peel (Paul) of Kirkwood, one son KC Carlson (Shelley) of Monmouth, grandchildren; Scott Peel (Jetta) of Galesburg, Ill., Jackie Cain (Matt) of Rio, Ill., Josh Peel (Brook) of Oquawka, Ill., Heidi Ross (Nick) of Monmouth, and KW Carlson of Roseville, Ill. Other survivors include his sister Louise Booth of Smithshire, Ill., and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Warren Country Memorial Park in Monmouth. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the funeral home where his family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund will be designated at a later date.
