Kenneth W. Hartory

Kenneth Wayne Hartory, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Ken was born March 30, 1947 in Manhattan, Kansas, the son of Clarence Joseph William and Alberta Marie (Roller) Hartory. Following high school, Ken enlisted in the US Navy honorably serving for 2 years. Following his discharge Ken hired on at Admiral Corporation in Galesburg. He later began working at the railroad on May 6, 1972. He retired as an engineer after 37 years of service.

Ken enjoyed spending time at home gardening and cooking and was known throughout the community as a social and friendly conversationalist.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Roller.

In keeping with Ken’s wishes cremation will be accorded and no services are planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
