Kevin E Abbott

Kevin E. Abbott, age 54, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at his residence on Friday March 22, 2013 at 6:00 am. Kevin was born on December 4, 1958 in Aledo, Illinois and is the son of Robert "Joe" Johanson and Bettie Lou Ortery Johanson. Kevin was raised in Moline, Illinois where he attended local schools. He then received his G E D. Kevin married Janet L. Blacketer on May 24, 2003 in Moline, Illinois and she is surviving. Kevin was employed as a driver and did custodial work at Center State International Truck in Burlington, Iowa. for two years. A very hard worker, he has had various employments over his entire life. Kevin also was a member of Rock Island National Guard Unit. He was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan and was a die hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs; as he sported tattoos of each. Surviving Kevin is his wife, Janet of Oquawka, Illinois. One son Brandon L. (Amie) Abbott of Davenport, Iowa, four daughters, Kelli D. Abbott of Oquawka, IL, Amanda S. Abbott of Davenport, Iowa, Merenda (Tracy) Goad of Red Bullin, Tennessee and Vanessa (Tony) Hunter of Gamaliel, Kentucky. Five Granddaughters and Two Grandsons Two sisters survive, Judy (Robert) Weber of EastMoline, IL.and Erma Doss of Keithsburg, IL. Two brothers Mike (Shelley) Abbott of Oquawka, IL.and Craig (Jill) Johanson of East Moline, IL. There are also a number of nieces and nephews surviving. His is preceded in death by his mother, one sister, and his step father. Services:Cremation has been accorded, and a memorial service will be on Saturday March 30th at the Christian Church in Keithsburg, Illinois at 10:00 am. His family has established a memorial fund in his memory. Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
