Harry Kevin Becker, age 62, formerly of Monmouth, IL passed away at 7:50 am on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the home of his sister in Thomson, Illinois. Kevin was born on November 24, 1954 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Harry S. and Mary J. Goranson Becker. Kevin attended the Little York school and graduated from Yorkwood High School with the class of 1972. Kevin began work at Barnes Grocery in Monmouth, where he worked for a number of years before becoming a Correctional Officer at the Henry Hill Department of Corrections, which he did until his retirement in 2010. Kevin showed and loved treasured his 1993 Camero and was a long-time member of the Maple City Street Machines in Monmouth, IL. He also enjoyed shooting and was a life member of the NRA and enjoyed going hunting. He enjoyed reading and loved art, doing many chalk drawings. He is survived by three sisters, Susan Welty (Alan) of Thomson, IL; Alice Becker of Monmouth, IL; and Idalou Turnquist (Ron) of Monmouth, IL. One brother survives, Mark Becker (Patti) of Cameron, IL. There also are a number of Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in his death by his grandparents, parents, one brother, two uncles, and a great nephew. Visitation His family plans visitation and will receive their friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday at Turnbull Funeral Home. Funeral Service A funeral service will be on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois Interment will be in Silent Home Cemetery in Cameron, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established for the Maple City Street Machines of Monmouth, IL.
