Larry R. Seitz, age 58 of Oquawka, Illinois passed away at his residence in Oquawka, Illinois on May 31, 2011 at 5:15 am. He was born on August 27, 1952 in Burlington, Ia., the son of Lawrence and Arlene Rudy Seitz. He was reared and educated in Henderson county, he graduated from Union High School in 1970. He then attended Western Illinois University. Larry married Jayne Thompson on July 25, 2003 in Oquawka, Ill., she survives. He was previously married to Linda Brown. Larry drove a semi all his life. For 15 years he was an owner/operator semi driver. He then went to work at WW Transport for the last 15 years. Larry was a St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and Illini fan. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife Jayne Seitz of Oquawka, Ill., three sons; Larry Seitz (Lisa) of Cummings, Ga., Travis Seitz (Aliesha) of Port St. Lucy, Fl., and Dustin Seitz (Joe Delano) of Atlanta, Ga. One step son John Allen of Oquawka, Ill., three step daughters; Julie Allen (Matt Peterson) of Raritan, Ill., Amy Laskaris (James) of Alpharette, Ga., and Angela McCabe (Jamie) of Biggsville, Ill., his mother Arlene Seitz of Gladstone, Ill., and 11 grandchildren also survive. One sister Jenette Johnson (Louis) of Gladstone, Ill., three brothers; Bill Seitz (Jeannie) of Biggsville, Ill., Jake Seitz (Denise) of Gladstone, Ill., Donnie Seitz (Diane) of Gladstone, Ill. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father. Services:A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Ill. Interment will be in Oquawka Cemetery. Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the funeral home where is family will be present to receive friends. A memorial fund has been established by his family.
