Lena L. Barnhouse, age 95, of Biggsville, Illinois; passed away on Sunday October 16th at 7:20 pm at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. Lena was born January 30, 1916 in Princeton, Illinois and is the daughter of R. Dow and Clella M. Powell Evans. She was raised in Indianola, Iowa where she attended school and graduated High School in 1934. She was married to Garland Dean Redinger on January 8, 1937 in Bethany, Missouri. He preceeded her in death on April 3, 1967. She later was married to Francis E. Barnhouse on July 21, 1968 in Albany, Missouri. He also preceded her in death on April 20, 1985. Lena and her husband owned and operated Lena's Tavern in Albany, Missouri for eleven years. She also worked seven more years at Hogue Grocery also in Albany. After her husband Francis passed away she came to Biggsville, Illinois in 1989 and was a member of the Biggsville United Methodist Church. Surviving is one daughter Phyllis (Clark) Bickford of South Haven, Minnesota and six grandsons Jeffrey, Donald, and David Rice and Alan, Duane, and Evan Bickford and one granddaughter Tara Beth Rice. There are four great grandsons and six great granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one daughter Nancy Rice, one sister, and two brothers. Services:The funeral service for Lena will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday October 19th, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville, Illinois. Interment in Zoar Cemetery in Cainsville, Missouri will be on Thursday at 1:00 pm Friends may call at Turnbulls in Biggsville after Noon on Wednesday Oct.19. A memorial fund is being established.
