LeRoy P. Wallace, age 76, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away on December 29, 2012 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois at 12:01 pm. LeRoy was born on May 25, 1937 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Roy P. Ford and Mary Naomi Wallace. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1955. LeRoy enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country in Korea during the Korean War. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the Monmouth area. LeRoy has resided for a number of years at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL and has been an active member of the honor guard for the local veterans posts in Quincy. He is an avid reader and enjoyed doing Architectural Art, and assembling model planes, trains, and cars. He is survived by one sister, Joyce E. Wallace and one brother Kenneth L. Wallace both of Monmouth, Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews are surviving. Services:Cremation is being accorded and a memorial service and military honors will be on his birthday,May 25, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, at 10:30 am A memorial fund is established for the military honor guard from Quincy, Illinois.
