Lewis "Scotty" Peoples, age 60, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at the Monmouth Nursing Home on Monday October 13, 2014 at 9:35 am. Scotty was born on December 23, 1953 in Monmouth and is the son of Charles L. and Marie A. Wallace Peoples. Lewis was raised and educated in Monmouth where he attended public schools and Monmouth High School. Lewis was first married to Robin Purty, then later to Carla Wallace. Lewis was employed as a laborer in construction for a time. He later worked on the line at Farmland Foods also in Monmouth, IL. He lately has been on disability. Scotty was known to be a " free spirit " in life. He is survived by a daughter, Cecelia Peoples in California, and two sons, Nolan Wallace of Monmouth, and Brandon Peoples, also in California. Lewis' sister survives, Peggy Walton of Moline, Illinois. Lewis has one aunt and one uncle also surviving. He is preceded in his death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Services:Cremation has been accorded. No service or memorial fund is currently being planned.
