Libby A. Finley

Libby Ann Finley, 59, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 12:15 a.m.

Libbylou, as she was called by her close family and friends, was born September 13, 1966 in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of Phyllis Bledsoe Curtis.

Libby is survived by two sisters, Tammy Nevels of Galesburg and Donna Schenburg of Kentucky; and her best friend, Darlene (Matthew) Anderson of Galesburg. Libby was preceded in death by her mother; four brothers; and her twin sister, Vicki

Libby worked for several years as a caregiver, later transitioning to hotel housekeeping and spent her remaining years working in the restaurant business. Libby was a homebody, who enjoyed a nice quiet evening on the front porch or watching television, especially soap operas and eating a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup. In her recent years, Libby had forged a strong faith in God and prayed to him daily.

Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Huntington, West Virginia. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
