Lillian H. Christensen

Lillian H. Christensen, age 98, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Monmouth, passed away at 4:09 p.m. , July 26, 2010 at the Regency in Springfield. She was born on November 27, 1911 in Monmouth, Ill. the daughter of Carl and Edith Johnson Christensen. She was reared and educated in Larchland, Ill. Lillian lived on her family farm with her parents. She was a nurses aid at Monmouth Hospital for 28 years. Lillian loved gardening, and had a large garden with several fruits and vegetables. She was a very gentle, sweet, and encouraging person. Surviving Lillian is one nephew, Robert K. Streight (Cynthia) of Springfield, Ill., one niece Marlene Christensen of Seattle, Wa. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Services:A funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Her family will be present an hour prior to the service to receive friends. A memorial fund is being established.
