Obituary

Linda Lou Bollinger, 81, Galesburg, Illinois, died at 12:21 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Linda was born in Galesburg on February 7, 1945, the daughter of Robert Louis and Vera Leona (Lynch) Corbin. Linda graduated from Knoxville High School and married Bobby Dean Bollinger on June 9, 1963 in Knoxville, Illinois. Linda and Bobby had three children and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Bobby preceded Linda in death on October 11, 2017.

Linda is survived by a son, Robert Bollinger of Galesburg; a daughter, Sue (Anthony Miller) Parr of Galesburg; one brother, Larry (Gloria) Corbin of Cameron, Illinois; one sister, Kathy (Mark) Nelson of Galva, Illinois; six grandchildren, Nathan, Tyler, Eric, Chris, Angel, and Bobby, Jr.; and three great grandchildren, River, Summer, and Josh, Jr. Along with her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by one son, Aaron on December 15, 2022; and two brothers, Richard Corbin and Jack Corbin.

While raising her children Linda was a stay at home mom, a role she greatly cherished. Linda later went to work as a CNA, working for a time at Knox County Nursing Home before embarking on a 20 plus year career at Froelich House Group Home in Galesburg. Linda was a talented artist. She enjoyed creating many crafts. She also enjoyed painting, sewing, making jewelry, and crocheting. Her hobbies also included creating a Monarch Butterfly garden and tending to her houseplants. She deeply loved and cared for her family and always enjoyed having fun.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family graveside services will be at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to Knox County Humane Society.
