Linda R. Barr, age 70, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 2:05pm at Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria, Illinois. on June 21, 2025 at 2:05 pm. Linda was born on July 2, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois and is the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Beulich Weber. She was raised and educated in Chicago, IL. She received her bachelors degree in Business Education in 1976 from Western Illinois University. On May 21, 1988 she married Robert B. Barr in Monmouth, Illinois. He moved her and her son to his farm, where they raised him together. Linda taught business education at Madonna High School in Chicago. Upon moving to Monmouth, she worked as a legal secretary for the law firms of Clendenin and Butler, and Stansell Critser & Whitman. She also worked at the Warren County YMCA, Bi-County Title Company, Western FBFM, and served as an administrative assistant at Community Medical Center. She also worked alongside of her husband on their farm, running the combine and working the ground in the spring and fall. She handled the farm's accounting and assisted with it's management. Bob taught her how to love the farm as much as he did and turned a girl from Chicago into a farm wife. Linda loved teaching children and the friendships she had with others. During her first years in Monmouth, she was involved in the Monmouth Junior Women's Club for several years. She has also been a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was chairman of the education committee for several years. She was the chairman and a teacher for vacation Bible School and a member of the Priscilla Circle. Surviving Linda is her husband Robert of 37 years; her son Nicholas Olendzki and Trisha of Monmouth, Illinois, and her grandson, Dominick Olendzki, her stepchildren , David Barr and Lori of LaGrange, Georgia and Trisha Barr of Metamora, Illinois and her three step grandchildren, Matthew, Abbigail, and Payton. She is preceded in her death by her parents and her sister, Sharon Weber.
As were her wishes, Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of her car. A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Jamieson Community Center
