Lois E. Bishop, age 91, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at the Monmouth Nursing Home on Thursday August 9, 2012 at 2:15 pm. Lois was born on May 17, 1921 in Davenport, Iowa and is the daughter of Tom and Charlotte Sedwick Nicholaides. She was raised in Monmouth where she attended local schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. She was married to William T. Bishop on April 20, 1945 in Miami Beach, Florida. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2000. Lois was a homemaker and was employed fourteen years at the F.W. Woolworth store in Monmouth. She also was a member of the Warren County Genealogical Society, Edwards River Rock Club, and enjoyed quilting and sewing. She is survived by her daughter Vicki L. (Michael) Saeger of Peoria, Ill., one son Gary J. Bishop of Magnolia, Ill., Four grandsons Dustin, Jeffery, and Brian of Colorado, and Nicklaus of Wyanet, Ill. Five great grandsons, Brandon, Sawyer, Kaden, Kollin, and Elliott also are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, William T, and two brothers. Services:A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. No calling hours are planned. A memorial fund has been established for the Hospice Compassus or Monmouth Nursing Home.
