Lore L. Dickens

Lore L. Dickens, age 59, of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 4:50 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. Lore was born on June 27, 1958 in Berwyn, Illinois, and is the daughter of Donald and Ruth Remick. As a young girl the family moved to Oquawka, IL. where she attended the Oquawka Schools and then was a graduate of Union High School with the class of 1976. She married Stanley V. Dickens on November 22, 1980 in Oquawka, Illinois and he is surviving. Lore began work as the cook with Evelyn at the "Village Hub" in Oquawka, Illinois. She later worked many years at Reifies in Davenport, Iowa and later again for Chili`s restaurant, both in Davenport, Iowa until her ill health forced her retire. Lore enjoyed bead work and being at the river and always tended to her flower garden. Surviving her is her husband, Stan V. Dickens of Davenport, Iowa; her mother, Ruth Remick of Oquawka, Illinois and two sisters, Rhonda (Paul) Olson and Karen (Bill) Slater, both of Oquawka, Illinois. There is one brother surviving, Rodney Remick of Oquawka, Illinois along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in her death by her father and twin sister, Lynn. A graveside funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at the Oquawka Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are through the Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
