Louis Duane Jensen, age 70, of Kirkwood, Ill., passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at his residence with his family by his side. Born on October 2, 1939, in Monmouth, Duane was the son of Louis A. and Evelyn L. Killip Jensen. Duane attended Empire rural school and graduated from Roseville High School in 1957 and attended University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill. On December 16, 1958 Duane married Margaret Ann Connerley in Raritan, Ill. Duane was a grain and livestock farmer on the Jensen Family farm all his life. He was a member of the Warren Henderson County Farm Bureau. He was a past director of the Warren County Extension and a member of the Illinois Shorthorn Cattle Association. He was a life time member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, head usher, and Bible study facilitator. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, and spending summers at their cabin in Minnesota. His love was his family, grandchildren, and their sporting events and showing livestock. Surviving are his wife Margaret Jensen of Kirkwood, one son Russell (Susan) Jensen of Roseville, Ill., grandson Jeff "Tiger" Jensen of Roseville and granddaughter Kim "Punk" Jensen of Roseville. Preceding Duane are his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services:A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth, Ill., Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Friends may call at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Sunday, January 31 where his family will be present from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A memorial fund is being established for a Agricultural Scholarship Fund for Youth.
