Lowell W. "Scotty" Scott, age 68, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away at Great River Hospice House on March 22, 2011 at 10:48 pm. He was born on February 14, 1943 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Harry M. and Beatrice Thompson Scott. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended Monmouth Public Schools and Monmouth High School. He married Kathleen Elaine Weaver on January 24, 1964 in Biggsville, Illinois. "Scotty" began work at the Jiffy Gas Station on South Main in Monmouth. He later operated Standard Service Stations in both Raritan and Roseville, Illinois for a number of years. He also did construction work in Henderson and Warren County for a time. "Scotty" also worked twenty years as a pressman and in shipping at Winegard of Burlington, Iowa until his retirement. "Scotty" liked fishing, woodworking, and boating on the Mississippi river. Surviving "Scotty" is his wife Kathleen E. Scott of Gladstone. One son Ronald W. (Dawn) Scott of Media, IL; two daughters Jodi (Tony) Scott of Knoxville, IL. and Tammy (Noah) Haessler of Fairfield, IA; and eight grandchildren, Charity, Cody, Kurt, Andrea, Allison, Phoenix, Orion, and Oscar. There are three sisters Janet Waller of Monmouth, IL, Karen (Frank) Anderson of Roseville, IL; and Debbie (John) Denakes of Dyersville, IA. Two brothers James (Connie) Scott of Gerlaw, IL and Mike (Debbie) Scott of Roseville, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his Parents and one sister Marilyn Bridge. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday March 26th at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, IL Interment will be in the Olena Cemetery in Olena, Illinois. His family plans to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday evening at the funeral home in Oquawka. A memorial fund is established for the Henderson County Health Department in Gladstone, Illinois.
