Lucile M. Zielke, age 97, of the Rozetta Community, passed away at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Ill. Lucile was born on November 4, 1911, in the Reed Community of Henderson County the daughter of Clinton and Ella Watson Welch. She was raised in the Reed Community and attended the rural schools. Lucile attended Teachers College at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. Lucile married Frank Zielke on January 9, 1943, in Rozetta. He preceded her in death. Lucile was a homemaker. She taught at several one room schools in the Hopper, Bald Bluff and Rozetta rural areas. She was an active member of the Reed Methodist Church and Biggsville Methodist Church. Lucile loved working on her genealogy and enjoyed history. Her family and her friends were her life. She was a good cook and was instrumental in the restoration of Reed Cemetery Surviving Lucile are one daughter Karen Zielke of Belmont, Calif., three sons, Karl (Bea) Zielke of Clyde, North Carolina, Joe (Beverly) Zielke of Rozetta and David (Paula) Zielke of Leland, Ill. seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, one son Guy Leslie, one grandson Jimmy Zielke, two sisters and two brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Ill. Her family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 at Turnbull's. Cremation will be accorded following the service. A memorial fund is being established for the preservation of Reed Cemetery.
