M. JoAnn Needham, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her residence in Monmouth. She was born June 25, 1938 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Harlan Estes Johnson and Clytie Johnson Nees. JoAnn grew up in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School. On September 21, 1957, she married Rex D. Needham and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. JoAnn was a homemaker. For a time, she worked at Western Stoneware in Monmouth. She enjoyed flowers and working in her garden. Above all, JoAnn loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

JoAnn is survived by two daughters, Chris (Greg Sage) Kellar of Galesburg, Illinois and Phyllis Brown of Monmouth, Illinois, one son, John Needham of Monmouth, Illinois, her grandchildren, Jake (Kelly) Miller, Jared Miller, Hannah (Curstin) Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Cody Earp, James Earp, Matthew Needham, and Rachel Needham, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Danny (Vicki) Johnson and Tony (Barb) Johnson. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex, one daughter, Patricia Montgomery, three sisters, and three brothers.

Mass of the Christian Burial for JoAnn Needham is planned for 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth. The Prayer of the Rosary will be prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the Church. Friends may call beginning at 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Due to the restrictions in place from the Covid-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are required. A memorial fund is being established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
