Malba V. Perkins

Malba V. Perkins, age 89, of Keithsburg, Illinois, passed away at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, June 30, 2008 at her residence. Malba was born on February 22, 1919, in Point Pleasant, Illinois. She is the daughter of Edgar L. and Ella Sallee Lodwick. Malba married Ira Perkins on October 4, 1976 in Camden, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2006. Malba was reared and educated in rural schools. Upon graduating from high school, she received nurses training. Malba worked for a time as a home health care nurse. She then went to work for the Breese Company in Wyoming, Illinois, making conduit for airplanes. Malba then spent most of her life on the farm and was a homemaker. She loved to garden, and enjoyed visiting with her friends and family. Melba is survived by two daughters, Susan Bent and Richard of Wyoming, Illinois and Connie Vananterpen of Pinefield, Louisiana, one son, John W. Perkins of Oceanside, California, Eleven Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Enid Cirillo and Joe of Bettendorf, Iowa and one brother, Jim Lodwick and Joan of Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, one sister and one brother Services:A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Turnbulls. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established for the Oquawka Ambulance.
