Maria T. Madrigal

Maria Teresa Madrigal, 45, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully with her mother by her side, at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Maria was born May 31, 1979 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Francisco and Julie Ann (Ryman)Madrigal. Maria is survived by her mother, Julie Ludolph of Peoria; her father, Francisco Madrigal of Georgia; one brother, Cameron Smith of Peoria; two sisters, Claudia (Spencer) Blackman and Monica Smith both of Peoria; and two half-sisters, Christina Madrigal and Amy Madrigal both of Georgia. Maria was preceded in death by her twin stillborn sister, Sylvia; and a stillborn brother, Franklin Smith, Jr.

Maria attended KCCDD and later THRIVE where she loved to be at workshop. Maria had a deep love for music, going to Wal-Mart and all of the group home outings. She also enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, and in her younger years, many family fishing trips to Canada.

Memorial visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, with memorial services following at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be at a later date at Swan Lake Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.
