Marilyn Ann Coburn, 87, of Knoxville, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Marilyn was born March 26, 1934 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Wayne Francis and Maxine Lorraine (Dennis) Mummey. Marilyn married the love of her life, Albert William Coburn on July 17, 1954 in Galesburg. Their 62 year marriage brought one daughter, Debbie Duerre of Knoxville, IL; two grandchildren, John (Carla) Duerre of Knoxville, IL and Tammy (Auston Wright) Engle of Galesburg, IL; and one great granddaughter, Lilith Engle. Marilyn is also survived by her companion, Roy Wallace of Knoxville and one brother, Jim (Blanch) Mummey of Knoxville, IL. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill on July 27, 2016. Marilyn graduated from Knoxville High School and later attended Brown’s Business College in Galesburg, IL. She worked for many years as an accountant for OMC Gale Products in Galesburg. Marilyn was a member of the First Christian Church in Knoxville. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed tending to her flower garden and playing bingo. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. The memorial service will be livestreamed at www.watsonthomas.com. Memorials may be made to the family.
