Marilyn Jean Lovdahl, age 78, passed away at 7:12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. Illinois. She was born on July 20, 1930, in Monmouth, the daughter of Glenn and Ella (Britttingham) Cudd. Marilyn was reared and educated in Monmouth, and attended Monmouth Public Schools. She married William F. Lovdahl on February 12, 1950, in Monmouth. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2008. As a child, she worked for her grandfather Dr. Cudd, assisting in vetinary medicine. Marilyn was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth. Marilyn worked as a nurse's aide at the Department of Children and Family Services and at Elder Health Care. She was an avid bowler. Marilyn is survived by three daughters Peg Key of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee, Melissa Soucy of Melbourne, Arkansas, and Gina VanWinkle and Roger of Galesburg, Illinois. one son Terry Lovdahl and Patrice of Purvis, Mississippi, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. Cremation has been accorded. Services:A graveside committal of ashes will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Gerlaw Cemetery. No calling hours are being planned by the family. A memorial fund is being established for Legacy Estates.
