Marilyn Jo Sharp

Marilyn Jo Sharp, age 77, of Des Moines, Iowa and formerly of Moline, Illinois; passed away at her Des Moines, IA residence on October 18. 2009 at 1:00 pm. She was born on February 14, 1932 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Clyde "Jerry" and Velma Irene Frymire DeBok. Sharp was raised in Monmouth, Illinois where she attended Monmouth Public Schools and graduated from Monmouth High School. She then attended Monmouth College. She was previously married to Richard B. Sharp. Sharp was employed first as a secretary in the business office of Wells Fargo in Moline, Illinois. She later was employed by John Deere Insurance as secretary also in Moline where she was employed many years. Marilyn enjoyed being with her sister and cousins and being mother to her family. She is survived by her daughter Lori Long (Mark) of Des Moines, Iowa, and two sons Brad Sharp and Michele of Milan, Illinois and Kurt Sharp of Tacoma, Washington. There are eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren surviving. Also surviving is one sister Carol Parker (Jerry) of Matoon, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents and one infant son. Services:A funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday afternoon at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans to receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from Noon to 1:30 pm. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
