Marjorie D. Denison

Marjorie D. Denison, age 85, of Monmouth, Ill. passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Monmouth Nursing Home. On November 22, 1924 Marjorie was born the daughter of Fred and Minnie Anderson Murphy. She was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth Public Schools. On October 9, 1942, Marjorie married Everett C. "Bill" Denison, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2003. Marjorie was a homemaker, working at Formfit Co. in Monmouth and was a bookkeeper for her husband. She was a member of the Jolly 8 Canasta Club, and former president of the Monmouth Eagles Club. She enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors doing yard work, her pets and playing with her grandchildren. Surviving Marjorie are one daughter Judy (Jerry) Chapin of Monmouth, two sons Bob (Linda) Denison of Monmouth, Ill. and Rick (Gloria Salinas) Denison of Dahinda, Ill., four grandchildren, Brenda (David) Williams of Brea, Calif, Bobbi (PJ) Brooks, Dawn (Don) Holmberg and Stephanie Chapin all of Monmouth, and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister Harriett Pattison, of Little York, Ill, three brothers Fred "Bud" Murphy of Grayslake, Ill., Oliver (Tidsy) Murphy and Wilbur Murphy both of Monmouth. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, two daughters Joyce Denison and Sandra Denison and two sons James "Bill" Denison and David Denison, two sisters and two brothers. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Her family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Monday, November 30 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. A memorial fund is being established for Monmouth Nursing Home.
