Marjory C. Rothzen

Marjory C. Rothzen, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at O.S.F. Holy Family Medical Center on August 19, 2013 at 1:34 am. She was born on June 4, 1931 in Monmouth, the daughter of Golden and Bertha (Shauman) Dobey. She received her elementary education at Coonville Grade School and graduated from Kirkwood High School with the class of 1949. Marjory married Glenn R. Rothzen on December 5, 1954 at the Kirkwood United Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood, Illinois. She was a devoted homemaker. Marjory was a member of the First Lutheran Church and active in LCW and the Social Circle. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the Home Extension, and a Girl Scout leader. Marjory very much enjoyed her cooking, sewing, and her family. She always enjoyed wintering in North Ft. Myers and traveling. Her travels took her overseas several times and extensively over the United States. Marjory is survived by her husband, two daughters; Carolyn Rothzen of Chicago, Illinois and Sarah (George) Haynes of Monmouth, one son; Dale (Rita) Rothzen of Kirkwood, Illinois, one sister; Wilma (Robert) Dalby of Payson, Arizona, four grandchildren; Eric (Jessica) Rothzen, Kevin (Tera) Rothzen, Lauren and Rachael Albert, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services:Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Her family will be present from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service to receive friends. Interment will follow in Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth. A memorial fund has been established for Relay for Life.
