Mark A. Murray

Mark A. Murray, age 49, of Monmouth; passed away at his residence on December 13, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Mark was born on January 21, 1961 in Galesburg and is the son of Charles Albert and Marilyn Louise Shaub Murray. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth Public Schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1979. He then completed the course of study for Private Investigator from the International Correspondence School. Mark served in the United States Army as E-4 during Granada. He was married to Marla Jean Parsons on May 14, 1985 in Monmouth, Illinois. Mark first was employed for four years as Diesel Mechanic for Trailways Bus in Burlington, Iowa. He also worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Iowa Precast Concrete also in Burlington. Mark also contracted to do roofing, both in Illinois and Iowa for a time. Mark loved to go fishing, and bowling, and was a heavy duty mushroom hunter. He was a loving husband and father. Surviving Mark is his wife Marla J. Murray of Monmouth, Illinois; One daughter Rachel Fye of Galesburg, IL; and two sons, Samuel Fye of Monmouth, Illinois and Jerry Fye (Samantha) of Oquawka, Illinois. One granddaughter survives Zoey and one grandson Wyatt surviving. A funeral service will be on Saturday December 18, 2010 at Turnbull Funeral Home at 10:30 am. His family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:30 am prior to the service at the funeral Saturday. Interment with military honors will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
