Marlene Adwell

Marlene Adwell, age 77, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 11:50 pm on April 11, 2013 at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. She was born on December 7, 1935 in Monmouth and is the daughter of Earl and Charlotte Collier Yoder. Marlene was raised and educated in Monmouth where she graduated from Monmouth High School. Marlene married Garland "Sunshine" Adwell on August 19, 1971 in Monmouth and he preceded her in death. Marlene began work as a waitress at the Park n Eat restaurant in Monmouth, and then later was the same for many years at Cottage Corner Restaurant until she retired. She is survived by three step children, Joan (Gerald) Marlow of Monmouth, Illinois; Jack (Becky) Adwell of Decatur, Illinois; and Betty (Larry) Thompson of Little York, Illinois. One sister Connie Clemens in Georgia; and her sister in law Gloria Yoder in Ohio are also surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, brothers Earl Jr., Donald, Robert, and Darriel; sisters Betty, Martha, Mary Jane, Shirley Ann, and Wilma. Services:A graveside service will be on Monday April 15, 2013 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Friends may call prior to the service at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth which is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial fund is established for either Monmouth Nursing Home or Harbor Lights Hospice.
