Mary R. Harrison, age 75, of Kahoka, Missouri and formerly of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 5:00 am on Monday March 24, 2014 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri. Mary was born on June 17, 1938 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Everett D and Elizabeth A Ray Allaman. She was raised in Monmouth and attended it's local schools and Monmouth High School. She graduated with the class of 1956. She then attended one year at Normal University and then attended and graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. with a degree in Home Economics and Special Education. She married L. Dee Harrison on November 18, 1957 in Rock Island, Illinois. Mary began teaching special education in Farmington at Harmony High School in Iowa for two years. She then taught at Revere Consolidated High School in Revere for several more years. She then cared for her parents here in Monmouth, Illinois until her father's passing. They then returned to Farmington, Iowa with Elizabeth until her passing and to the present. Mary and Dee attended and were members of Amazing Grace Bible Church in Kahoka, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Dee Harrison of Farmington, Iowa. Two daughters and two sons survive, Philip Harrison in LasVegas, Nevada; Cathleen (Steven) Burke of Edgerton, Kansas; Lisa Harrison of Winter Park, Florida; and Bradley (Julie) Harrison of Rowlett, Texas. There are six grandchildren surviving. Two brothers survive, John Deer Allaman of Aspen, Colorado and David (Julie) Allaman of Grafton, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard; and one grandson, Ryan Burke. Services:A memorial service will be planned at 10:00 am on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation has been accorded in Missouri. A visitation with the family being present to receive friends at the funeral home will be on Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm the night before. A memorial fund is being established for Bonaparte Baptist Church.
