Mary Irene Miller

Mary Irene Miller, age 87, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:55 A.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Mt. View, Arkansas, the daughter of Zed and Mary Gertha (Branscum) Looney. Mary attended rural school in the Mt. View area. On May 7, 1979, she married Finley G. Miller in Monmouth, Illinois and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1983. Mary was previously married to Lonnie J. Brewer. She worked for Wells Pet Food and Wilson Foods in Monmouth. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law Defrance "Dee" Brewer of Monmouth, two granddaughters; Kimberly Carlson and Leslie Brewer, two grandsons; Mike Brewer and Justin Brewer, one niece, and her special friend, Gerri Merry. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sons, two sisters, and special friend, Martha Brown. Visitation Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral Service A funeral service is planned for 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL. A memorial fund is being established for the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. Interment will be at Monmouth Cemetery.
