Mary Lou Leath, age 81, of Galesburg, Illinois; passed away at 6:00 pm on the 28th of May at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Mary Lou was born July 22, 1929 in Alexis, Illinois and is the daughter of Art and Frances Reem Alstedt. She was raised in Alexis where she attended school and graduated from Alexis High School. She married Charles D. Leath on January 14,1949 in Alexis, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2005. Mary Lou was a homemaker and assisted her husband in their farm operation. She is a member of Coldbrook Christian Church. Surviving is one son Allan (Sally) Leath of Galesburg, Illinois and three daughters Marilyn (Terry) Lashbrook of Spring, Texas, Marcia Ryberg of Galesburg, Illinois, and Joyce (Wat) Mukai of Yokohama Japan. There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two brothers Edward E."Gene" Alstedt of Galesburg, IL, and Joel "Joe " Alstedt of Galesburg, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers, and her son in law. Services:A funeral service will be on Tuesday June 7th, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois at 10:30am. Interment will be in Silent Home Cemetery in Cameron, Illinois. Her family plans to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on June 6th, Monday evening at Turnbulls. A memorial fund is being established for Coldbrook Christian Church.
