Mary Lou Parsons

Mary Lou Parsons, age 70, of Alexis, Illinois; passed away at 2:20 am on Wednesday May 18th, at Trinity Medical Center West Campus in Rock Island, Illinois. Mary Lou was born May 3, 1941 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of LeRoy W. and Margaret M. Roberts Davis. She was raised in the Monmouth area and attended local rural school. She graduated from Little York High School in 1959. She was married to Harold S. Parsons on April 1, 1961 in Little York, Illinois. Mary Lou first worked at Bowman Colwell Department store in Monmouth in the business office. She later worked as a Psychiatric Aid at Galesburg Research Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois for a number of years. She officially retired in 2006. Mary Lou is a charter member of the Warren County Genealogical Society and volunteered with and did research in the Society's Room at the Warren County Library. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, knitting, and hand-work. She loved wild life and her pet cats. She is survived by two daughters Sylvia Lou (Bob) Stack of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and Rowena Parsons of Alexis, Illinois. One son Harold Parson, Jr. of Fulton County, Illinois also survives. She has an Aunt and a number of cousins also surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Services:A graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday May 23rd at the Little York Cemetery in Little York, Illinois. Her family plans visitation for an hour prior to the service at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Little York. A memorial fund is being established by her family.
