Mary R."Becky" Chambers, age 67 of Biggsville, Illinois; passed away at 2:15 a.m. on May 11th at her home in Biggsville, Illinois. Becky was born on February 24, 1943 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Mary L. Kay Wolf, Sr. She was raised in Ft. Madison, Iowa and attended local schools. She graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1960 and then graduated from Southeastern Community College with an Associate Degree in Computer Programing. Becky married William " Jack " Chambers on May 26, 1966 in Miami, Oklahoma. Becky was employed earlier by Shafer Pen and later by IRC in Burlington, Iowa where she was an assembler. She then was employed by the Henderson County Health Department in the WIC program. She last worked with her husband at HyVee in Burlington, IA. She was President of the Henderson County Home Extension and a member and Deacon of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church. She also served as a Trustee of the South Henderson Church. Becky was known for her love of animals and birds and most especially her cats Max and Rex. She has been very active in the affairs in the Biggsville Community for many years. Surviving her is her daughter Janeen (John) Betts of Biggsville, Il. and granddaughter Kelly Merideth of Biggsville, Il. grandson Michael Hurka of Galesburg , Il. great grandsons Alex, Austin and Kadin of Biggsville, Il. A step granddaughter Tiffany Betts and a step grandson Dakota Betts, and two step great grandchildren all of DeRidder, LA. Also surviving are her mother-in-law Helen Chambers of Biggsville, and her sister Darlene (Mark) Ewinger of Burlington, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 15, 2010 at the South Henderson Church of rural Biggsville. Friends may call at the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in the South Henderson Cemetery. Memorial funds are being established for either Henderson County Health Department Hospice or the Biggsville Presbyterian Church.
