Melisa Eagle, 50, of East Galesburg, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at 11:33 p.m. She was born on June 20, 1976. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, resilience, and the love she shared with her family and friends throughout her life.

Melisa was known for her caring heart, generous spirit, quick wit, and willingness to help others. She touched countless lives through her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering determination. Those who knew her will remember her courage in the face of adversity and her ability to make others feel loved and valued.

She is survived by her mother, Rogena Lumberry and her paternal grandmother, Lola Mohr; her sisters, Lisa Bohannan of Elmore, Tracie Peterson (Mike Alford) of Williamsfield, Annette (Charlie) Sams of Williamsfield, and Laurie (Jefferson McCluskey) Lumberry. She is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 2 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews

Melisa was blessed with many special friendships that became family. She leaves behind her dear friends Anneke McGruder and family and Kelly Hill and family, who welcomed and loved her as one of their own. She also shared an especially close bond with her cousin, Tammy Burkhart, who was not only family but a beloved sister in every sense of the word.

Melisa dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work and the relationships she built along the way. Most recently, she worked for Advance Services, Inc., where she enjoyed helping people find employment opportunities and build better futures for themselves and their families. She was also a valued member of the team at Iron Spike Brewing Company, where she was affectionately considered part of the "Spike Fam" and formed many lasting friendships. Prior to that, she worked for Security Finance, Tucker's Printing, and Steak 'n Shake, earning the respect and admiration of coworkers and customers alike through her hard work, kindness, and genuine personality.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Elmore, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rogena Lumberry. Online expressions of sympathy at www.watsonthomas.com.
