Melva M. Barry

Melva M. Barry, age 66 of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away in Benson, Arizona on Saturday February 24, 2024. Melva was born on June 27, 1957 in Tucson, Arizona and is the daughter of Rudy and Mercedes Campas Moreno. She was raised in Tucson where she attended school in the Sunnyside School system where she graduated from high school in 1975. Melva married Dan L.Barry on May 11, 1991 in Tucson and he is surviving. Melva was a licensed beautician who was employed for a time in a salon in Tucson. While in Monmouth, she was an employee of Immaculate Conception Church working in the cafeteria for a number of years.

Surviving Melva is her husband, Dan of Monmouth, Illinois, her daughter Teresa Martinez Barry of Benson, Arizona, and her sons, Gilbert Ublayhoe of Phoeniz, AZ and Troy Cronkite of Galesburg, Illinois, and two sons, Kaleb and Nickolas Barry, both of Monmouth, IL. her grandsons, Zach Ray of Knoxville, Illinois and Christopher Urbalejo and granddaughter, Via Urbalejo, both in California. There are two sisters, Stella Samora and Jr of Tucson, AZ and Lydia Moreno also of Tucson, AZ and her brother, Raul Moreno of Las Vega, NV. Her mother, Mercy Moreno of Tucson, Arizona is also surviving.

Her husband has planned a Memorial Service and Celebration of her life on May 11, 2024 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her ashes will be interred at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery following. A memorial fund is being established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospitals and may be left at the funeral home.
