Melvin C. Norris

Melvin C. "Mel" Norris, 63, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. He was born on June 24, 1944, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Warren N. and Marie C.McCarty Norris. Melvin was reared and educated in Burlington where he attended local schools and Burlington High School. He married Juanita M. Heine on June 22, 2002 in Monmouth, Illinois. Melvin worked 21 years at Warren Acheivement Industries in Monmouth, and then drove for "City Cab Company in both Monmouth and Galesburg. He loved bowling, fishing, and bingo. Melvin is survived by the wife Juanita M.Norris of Monmouth, One daughter Brenda Dillie of Burlington, Iowa, One son Danny Norris of Stronghurst, Illinois, and one granddaughter. Also surviving is his sister Barbara Wagoner of Katy, Texas. Services:Mel's family is planning a visitation to receive their friends on Monday January 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Cremation will then be accorded. A memorial fund is being established by his family.
