Merle D. Mccabe

Merle D. McCabe, age 79, of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away at 8:01 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. He was born on December 10, 1938 in Gladstone, Illinois, the son of Howard and Myrtle (Tee) McCabe. Merle attended school in Gladstone. Merle married Bobbi Jo Smith and she is surviving. He worked for 30 years at the I.A.A.P. in Middletown, Iowa from which he retired. Merle enjoyed riding around on the back roads of the area in his car. He is survived by his wife Bobbie, one daughter, Laurie (Dan) McCabe of Albuquerque, NM, one son, Chad (Sin Young) McCabe, of Albuquerque, NM, and one brother, Don (Bonnie) McCabe of Biggsville, IL. There are numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. Merle is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Darlene Kelly, and one brother Melvin McCabe. A graveside service is planned for 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Carman Cemetery. There are no visitation hours planned.
